Session Information

  • Session Information
The location of your session is entirely up to you; your backyard, your favorite park, Main Street, a farm . . . However, as a natural light photographer, l need a large amount of natural light to create your portraits. For outdoor settings, open shade is a must. I do prefer to work outdoors when the weather cooperates, and I have found that the best times of day to shoot outdoor portraits are early in the morning and in the last 2 hours before sunset. These times will provide the best light and will give your photos a warm glow. For newborn or infant sessions, I will work with you to determine the best time of day for your session, working around naps, feeding sessions, and your own personal needs. What to Wear: Clothing is a very important component to successful portraits. My advice: Be yourself! Dress in clothes that reflect your personality: fun, funky, preppy, conservative . . . Jeans always work well, and simple sun dresses look great on little girls. Newborns and babies are best photographed in their birthday suits, but if you prefer photos with a diaper on, I would suggest a diaper cover to hide the Velcro tabs and characters on the front. If more than one person is being photographed, please make sure that everyone is dressed similarly. You may bring more than one outfit to your session, as outfit changes are allowed (and encouraged!). Proofs from your session will be presented in an online gallery approximately 2-3 weeks after your session. The online gallery will be available for 2 weeks. Ordering: All orders can be sent to me via email at heidiknightphoto@gmail. com. Orders will not be placed until payment is received in full. Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery of prints. I will accept checks addressed to Heidi Knight. Please inquire for more information about other methods of payment.

6 weeks old

Even though little Miss T was 6 weeks old, she was still itty bitty and absolutely precious!  It is so much fun to snuggle a baby.  Especially since my "baby" is approaching her preschool years!  T's mommy and daddy made the cute floral backdrop.  I want to make one of my own because it was really cool!

Sweet cheeks

I just love babies.  This sweet little guy is 7 months old and already quite the charmer.  I've been friends with his daddy since grad school and with his mama since the second I met her.  3 kids later and I adore their family more than ever.  You should have seen the jumping jacks both parents were doing to get the photo of the three children smiling.  I didn't see them because they were behind me, but I heard a lot of noise and judging by the kid's delighted faces, it must have been a sight to behold.  I can't tell you how much I appreciated it since getting 3 kids of these ages to pleasantly smile at once is nearly impossible!  :)

Since I have severely neglected my blog, I thought I had better post some pictures ASAP!  I'll have senior photos to share soon as well as some custom graduation announcements.  And I may throw in a few of my favorites from the past few months sometime soon.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope you all enjoy the season of love!  Valentine's day is one of my favorite holidays, mostly because of the color scheme.  I'm all about the pinks and reds.  :)

The tree

I do love the warm glow of a Christmas tree.  I contemplated a tree with multi-colored lights but ended up with the usual clear lights again when we replaced our pre-lit tree this year.  But, I still may have a big multi-colored tree in my future.  There is something happy about those bright lights that brings me back to childhood.  Maybe I'll add a new tree to the house next year.  All of our miniature trees have colored lights, but not the big tree.  I digress...  Here are a couple photos.  The first is something my oldest daughter made in 1st grade that I just love.  The second is a cadywompus (sp?) photo of our tree.  Tilt your head - apparently the tripod was leaning.  I was backed WAY into a corner by the stairs to get the whole tree in the photo, so I wasn't too worried about being straight at that moment.  Not shaking during the 3 seconds the shutter was open was a bigger concern since I was using my tripod more as a monopod in that itty bitty space.

Sport themed

I took some sport themed photos as a gift for a lucky husband recently.  I won't post anything more revealing, but as you can see, her husband should be very pleasantly surprised to receive his gift this Christmas.

moments like this

Moments like this make me so happy to have two girls who get to grow up as sisters.  Having more than one child is something I will never ever regret.
